Vittorio was born on May 7, 1927
At 15 he was hired by La Sant’Ambrogio di Pellegrini.
In those years he met Annamaria, he loved her and in 1955 he married her.
Four years later he founded his artisan company, simply calling it Officina Vittorio Donatoni.
Those after the Second World War are difficult years, the economy is struggling to get back on its feet; initially little-functional and bulky trucks circulate.
But Vittorio Donatoni’s true skill lies in knowing how to modify and improve things , from there to patent new devices, the step is short.
In fact, during the first editions of Marmo Macchine, today MarmoMac , then exclusive to Sant’Ambrogio, Vittorio presented his first patents such as the winch for extracting marble from quarries, the hydro-mechanical jack, the hook for lifting the slabs.
Spend Sundays at his drafting machine to study and design new solutions to facilitate the hard work of the marble world.
It was 1976 when he opened the new workshop in which his children also began to work: Andrea, Dario, Giorgio and Paolo.
In 1981 it became an official Iveco workshop, and at the same time an authorized Simec workshop.
In 1994 it was converted to Renault Trucks. A year later a second shed is built adjacent to the first.
In this period, a new business for Donatoni begins: that of the trade of used marble machinery and towards 2001 the era of cutting machines begins, patenting the now famous Matrix , revolutionizing the cutting system in the stone sector.
In 2005 the third shed was built and Vittorio Donatoni became the reality we all know.
He passed away on September 10, 2008, at the age of 81.
But the story of the Donatoni does not end with Vittorio. He continues through his children who carry on the work started by the father with the same passion and the same commitment that has always distinguished this surname
